David Lee Roth – Shepton Mallet 1991
I went to three of the dates on this DLR tour – Newcastle (Whitley Bay), London and Shepton Mallet. Yes the Mallet. Not a lot of shows happen at the Mallet. So 5 of us went down there and were staying in a B&B. When we arrived the owner of the establishment was overly nice to us – tea, cakes, magazines etc. We went to the show, which was ok, had a few beers and hit the hay. Next morning we’re having breakfast and our hostess was fussing over us more than one would expect. She looked at me and said, “you must be really tired”. “No” I replied, “I got a great night’s sleep”. She wasn’t convinced, and said “well that’s amazing. I would have thought that all that jumping around a big stage must really take it out of you Dave”.
