Michael Lindsay-Hogg – Sonoma Co. 2011

IMG_6262IMG_6261

Michael has a past like no-one else. He grew up in the golden age of movies as son of Geraldine Fitzgerald, and allegedly Orson Wells. He moved to the UK and became the director of the pop show, Ready, Steady, Go, where he met every Brit rock star from Jagger to Lennon and all in between. He went on to direct every Stones “video” from 1966 to 1981, as well as The Rolling Stones Rock n Roll Circus and Let It Be. Michael was the guy who conceived and shot the Beatles playing on Apple’s rooftop. There’s much more too, so do read his book, Luck and Circumstance.

I met Michael in Sebastopol, CA when Pepperland were asked to play at a reception. The event turned out to be the launch for this book. Despite working very closely with the Beatles for years, he was very kind and complimentary about our band. Not long afterwards, I interviewed him for KRSH UK. I’ll post the interview in the Davy on the Radio page soon.
