The first of the Who’s Albert Hall shows in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, it was a cracker. Baba O’ Riley with classical violinist Nigel Kennedy, So Sad About Us with Paul Weller and even Let’s See Action with Eddie Vedder. I’ve still got the goose...

The first Who show I ever saw. The opening acts were AC/DC, Nils Lofgren and the Stranglers. At the time it was the biggest show they’d ever played at almost 80,000 people. More stories on this show elsewhere on the blog....
