Reading Festival – Reading 1980
I think I went to about 8 or 9 Reading Festivals. That was the place to go for great rock lineups in the UK – Rory G, Frankie Miller, Cockney Rebel, The Kinks, Pat Travers and Budgie, to name just a few. 1980 was my first. There was one telephone box on the site and I remember standing in a line with about 50 other nervous 16 year olds, waiting to call my folks to get my O Level results. Thank fully I didn’t do too badly.
